Then consider this company! They are not a small company. They are a $3b+ premier manufacturer and packer of natural and process bulk, shredded, and sliced cheeses, but they are employee owned, which creates a totally different culture than any public company. In addition, this company has a brand new, state-of-the-art building that opened this month, runs SAP, and is filled with smart, aspiring, people that are dedicate to each other and the mission.
This role will sit in their corporate office in, OH and be responsible for costing at eight manufacturing facilities. You will support the senior leadership by taking ownership of the cost accounting activities for the business. They need someone who understands both operations and accounting at a high level. You will be responsible for the costing at all their facilities.
They expect the company to double in size within the next 3-5 years, so it will be imperative for you to come in and make sure that the costing procedures are in place for that.
The majority of their business comes from packaging cheese for other companies, and they have about 10,000 finished products. It does not sound like their BOMs are too complex, but the huge number of products can be a challenge to maintain. Thus, you need to have experience and be comfortable with costing a large number of SKUs. Also, they have recently encountered challenges with allocating overhead rates across their product lines. They need you to come in and add
value in this area.
This company is well-known and respected within the food industry. They are family and employee- owned, so the employees take ownership and enormous pride in the work they produce. They encourage growth and development within the organization. When we spoke with the hiring manager, one of the things he emphasized was how much the culture focuses on expanding beyond your role and getting involved with other parts of the company that might interest you. This will allow you to see how multiple aspects of the business operate.
They also offer strong benefits, such as a generous ESOP plan to supplement your regular income. It usually comes out to about 10% of your income, and it involves no contribution of your own. They take pride in offering a program that beats the retirement plans of other companies.
When we asked the hiring manager and the Talent Acquisition Manager what they enjoy the most about the company, they did not even hesitate. They both emphatically said that it is the people.
